Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our managed IT services.

What is a Managed Services Provider (MSP)?

A Managed Service Provider (MSP) acts as an external IT team for your business, handling everything an in-house IT department would. We integrate seamlessly into your operations, providing technical support, cybersecurity, IT strategy, compliance, and more—all tailored to your needs.

Why should I choose an MSP over break-fix IT support?

Break-fix or ad hoc support is reactive—you call for help after a problem occurs, and they work to fix it. With managed IT services, many issues can be prevented before they happen. While some problems will still require a response, we already have your business fully documented, allowing us to resolve issues faster than a traditional break-fix provider.

What industries do you specialize in?

We don’t specialize in a single industry—we support organizations across various fields. Many of our clients come from industries such as veterinary, medical, construction, automotive services, transportation, municipal, manufacturing, and professional services, among others.

How does 574 Technologies differ from other managed IT service providers?

One thing that sets us apart is that we don’t require long-term contracts. We believe in earning your business every day through exceptional support, not legal obligations. Our clients stay with us because they want to—and to date, we’ve never lost a client due to service quality issues.

Do you offer one-time IT support, or only ongoing services?

We don’t typically offer one-time break-fix IT support, but we do take on one-time projects such as network deployments, Microsoft email migrations, and cloud server setups. Every situation is unique—reach out, and we’d be happy to discuss your needs.

What services does 574 Technologies offer?

Our fully managed IT solution includes a wide range of services, such as helpdesk support, cybersecurity solutions, Microsoft 365 licensing and management, cloud server hosting, phone systems, printers, and more. If you have specific needs, please don’t hesitate to ask!

Do you provide 24/7 IT support?

Yes, we do have the ability to offer 24/7 remote support for those businesses that need it.

How do you handle cybersecurity threats?

Cybersecurity threats are constantly evolving, so we take a layered approach to protection. This includes securing every aspect of our customers' environments, from their local networks and cloud services like Microsoft 365 to individual devices such as servers, PCs, and mobile devices. We also ensure that employees are equipped with the knowledge to recognize threats through comprehensive cybersecurity awareness training.

Can you support remote and hybrid workforces?

Absolutely! We have several customers based in the South Bend, Mishawaka, Elkhart, and Goshen areas, many of whom have both in-office staff and remote employees located in different states and countries.

What happens if I have an IT emergency outside business hours?

If you are signed up for 24/7 support, that’s business as usual. If not, we still monitor for issues, and if a customer has an emergency outside of regular hours, we will never turn them away or make them wait until Monday.

How do you ensure my data is secure?

We ensure your data is secure through advanced encryption, continuous monitoring, and multi-layered cybersecurity measures including limiting access, regular backups, and security training.

Do you help businesses meet compliance requirements (HIPAA, PCI, etc.)?

Yes, we can assist a business with compliance requirements including HIPAA and PCI, as well as others.

What steps do you take to protect against ransomware and phishing attacks?

We protect against ransomware and phishing with 24/7 monitoring, advanced threat detection, and proactive security measures. Our MDR platform secures all PCs, servers, and Microsoft 365 accounts, detecting threats and isolating attacks before they can spread. Additionally, we implement preventative security measures and provide cybersecurity awareness training to help staff recognize threats before they escalate.

How do you handle data backup and disaster recovery?

We back up critical data across servers, PCs, and Microsoft 365 while ensuring recovery meets business needs. Local and cloud backups enable quick restoration—whether on-site or in the cloud—minimizing downtime in case of disaster.

Can you help with cybersecurity training for my employees?

Absolutely, we think cybersecurity awareness training is an invaluable tool to combat security risks for an organization, so we highly recommend it for all businesses.

How is your pricing structured?

Typically, our monthly services are broken down into a few key line items: Per Location, Per Device, and Per User. This structure allows for easy scalability as your business grows or shrinks.

Are there long-term contracts, or is it month-to-month?

All services are month-to-month, with a 90-day cancellation policy. The reason for this policy is that transitioning away from an IT provider can be complex, and we want to ensure that all parties have ample time to make a smooth transition without feeling rushed.

What happens if I need to scale up or down my services?

No problem at all. That’s the beauty of our pricing model.

Are there any hidden fees I should be aware of?

Nope! The only items not explicitly included in our fully managed IT service are projects. Projects are additional services that require a quote and approval before completion. A project is typically defined as any task that requires planning and has a definitive start and end.

Do you offer a free IT assessment?

Yes, we don’t charge for providing a discovery meeting.

How do I get started with 574 Technologies?

To get started: Reach out to us via phone at 574.387.6232, via email at hello@574technologies.com, or through our website contact form. We’ll schedule a “right fit” conversation—either over the phone or in person—to learn about your business and the challenges you’re facing. If we both agree that our businesses could work well together, we’ll proceed to the proposal stage.

How long does it take to transition to your services?

The onboarding process typically takes about a month or so on average, depending on the complexity of your business and IT environment.

Will switching to a managed service provider cause downtime for my business?

No, there is no business interruption when switching to 574 Technologies. Any services that can cause downtime are migrated outside of operating hours to prevent interruption.

Can you work with my existing IT team?

Yes, absolutely! We refer to this as "Co-Managed IT Services," where the relationship is shared between your internal staff and our outsourced team. This structure can be tailored in various ways to meet your specific business needs and goals.
